Peter Christie joins WorldsView as an Associate
13th Feb 2008 01:04 pm

Peter Christie joined the WorldsView team as a consultant in December 2006, with over 20 years experience as a change and transformation consultant. He brings deep expertise in African management, as well as in the use of storytelling for transformation.

When asked what attracted him to the WorldsView brand and approach, Peter says, "I love the idea of 'WorldsView' – the notion of competing worlds, having a world view in everything we do, finding a way through for the world. I also love the notion of conversations, which aligns closely with my storytelling philosophy, as a very powerful way of getting to deep issues quite quickly."

Peter has project led large-scale transformation projects, such as the integration of IBM back into South Africa, and helped to pioneer, in South Africa and abroad, the now widespread use of storytelling to creatively communicate key change and transformation messages in organisations.

As well as playing a key role in the consulting team, Peter has taken up the challenge of championing WorldsView's teaching and publishing activities. His publishing credits include editing the best-selling African Management: Philosophies, Concepts and Applications (1993, reprinted 1994 and 1995), and authoring Stories from an Afman(ager)! (1996), Animal Firm (2000) with Craig Gordon, and Not The Bored Room!, a book on storytelling in organisations. His writer’s touch can be felt in the 2007 WorldsView Nine Conversations in Leadership, through his contribution as copy editor.

As a part-time MBA lecturer at Wits Business School, Peter pioneered the South African Management Project at Wits Business School, a project investigating indigenous approaches to management in South Africa, and teaches courses in Organisational Development, Storytelling in Organisations and Creativity and Innovation at Work. He lectures for a number of other business schools and management development institutes, and has facilitated workshops in the UK and most Southern African countries.

Along with his extensive academic and professional experience, Peter brings a passion for African leadership, a unique ways of thinking and a dynamic personality to the organisation – all an asset to the growing WorldsView team.
